I have been using SKYPE  since my freshman year of college and I like all the features and extra settings it has to communicate with people from other countries across the world or in the same state. For it to be used in the classroom that would be really good for parents to see how their kindergarten kids are doing on their first couple of days in class. Also, your classroom could have a competition with another classroom over for example math problems and then who ever wins gets to have a pizza party in their classroom the next day for lunch. There are many different ways to use skype along with other resources to make it fun and effective in a classroom.
